Robust Beam Construction:
The Goplus inflatable spa uses a variation of the industry standard type of construction material and architecture.
We particularly like the inclusion of the padded base. Most other inflatable tubs don’t have that in their build, and it certainly adds comfort as well as an element of thermal insulation which is great.

The “I – Beam” construction is a well proven way of making the inflated side walls rigid and stable. These types of hot tubs are not to be confused with other inflatable products, they are robust, rigid and durable.

The inflated walls have the feel of a padded car seat to the touch, and an average weight adult can sit on the without buckling.

Function Control Panel:
It could not be more conveniently sited. The soft blister control panel sits right on top of the hot tub wall above the built in pump and heater combo.
There’s not many functions to worry about with these hot tubs. Nothing complicated here, just filter, bubble and heater controls.
The the temperature setting is in Celsius not Fahrenheit. A minor point that for American owners just requires a quick google search to find the ideal temperature.

Goplus Pump and Heater Combo:
This is where the Goplus hot tub differs from most other inflatable hot tubs on the market.
The innovative design of this hot tub has the pump and heater combo built into the tub wall. This has a number of real benefits for the owner.
Visually both the round and square versions are super sleek and elegant because of this inboard pump design, and no matter what colour is chosen they just look pretty darn cool. We particularly like the square dark blue tub, but maybe it doesn’t suit every setting.
Having an inboard pump and heater also means the tub has a smaller footprint than others of similar capacity, so it can easily find a home just a tad larger than its base footprint.
Heat transfer to the tub water is also much more efficient using this type of tub architecture, as plumbing has been virtually eliminated.
Pump noise is obviously an issue to be taken seriously when purchasing an inflatable hot tub. We’re looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating hot tub experience not a mild headache.
[wp-svg-icons icon=”bars-2″ wrap=”span”] The Goplus built in system has a very low sound profile indeed, which is great. The up to the minute pump technology combined with the cushioned hot tub base makes the pump almost inaudible. In fact it’s the bubbles that cause most “noise”.
That’s the kind of noise we’re looking for. Without it we might as well jump into a hot bath !!

Chemical Maintenance:
A healthy hot tub is obviously top priority. Crystal clear and inviting is what we’re looking for.
Chemical maintenance of the Goplus hot tub range is done manually, like pretty much all other tubs. No chemical treatment disperser is included in the box so a chemical disperser floater needs to be purchased. When you pick up your chosen spa chemicals just chose one then. Expect to pay not more than ten bucks for it.

Fortunately these days pool and hot tub chemical treatment is easy, simple and effective. No chemistry degree needed.

The high Goplus pump output of 420 gallon/hour or around 1.5 complete tub water volumes. This means that chemical treatment and hot tub filtration is done fast and fast means lower electricity bills.

Hot Tub Cover and Base:
An average top and a brilliant bottom, that pretty much sums up things with the Goplus hot tub.
It’s a pity that the round tub cover cover doesn’t live up to the rest of the hot tub. It just covers the tub and not too much more. We would like to see some real thermal insulation machined into the cover. It’s also a tad flimsy.
It’s not a show stopper, we can work around this, and for the bargain price tag on the tub we prefer the our money being spent on core components.
Given that most of the tub heat loss is through the cover we do need to think about adding a little thermal insulation ourselves. It’s easy and very cheaply done. Just read our solar blanket article. We always urge all hot tub owners to use this simple energy saving tip anyway, and for a few bucks the problem is solved.

Now to the bottom of the tub and it’s good !! Nicely cushioned and soft to sit on, so no additional cushions or seats are required to enjoy a comfortable hot tub soak. Having a well cushioned base also adds an element of thermal insulation too, which helps cutting energy bills.

Handling the single delivery box probably needs two people, they can weigh between 45 and 60 pounds depending on the model chosen. Often the box is best unpacked where it has been placed on delivery.

Goplus Hot Tub Range Review Notes
Well there’s an awful lot of good stuff on offer here, and at a really affordable price.
The Goplus hot tub range uses the same pump and heater for all hot tub sizes and this does have an impact on the performance of the larger inflatable hot tubs. They will take a little longer to reach operating temperature, and require a slightly longer heater run time to maintain temperature.
It’s not an insignificant thing to be aware of, but in our opinion the little extra cost of the large tub and a tad more on the electricity bill is a price well worth paying for the extra hot tub real estate you’re getting. Perhaps if you’re buying just for two people it’s not justified, but for four it’s well worth considering the investment.

All the Goplus hot tubs have lots of nice features built in to them but the round tub range also offers an automatic hard water system.
This can transform a good hot tub experience to a great one. It’s not a something that you can see or smell, but you sure can touch it. Your skin will certainly notice the difference. The water is softer and silkier to the touch, and that’s always pleasant especially when you’re taking a long soak. We really think this is a premium feature that Goplus have included in the round hot tub specification but have not emphasised the benefits enough.
Now we understand these are budget inflatable tubs but we wish the manufacturer had spent a few dollars more on the covers. They are adequate but could be better. As we mentioned above we it’s not a show stopper but thermal insulation is an important consideration for hot tub owners as the cover is a primary source of heat loss. However additional insulation can be easily and very cheaply added by using a solar blanket on top of the water. No matter what state the hot tub lives in we always recommend this anyway.

Finally looking at the Goplus hot tub range from a price versus quality point of view then it’s hard to see past them.

They might be fairly new to the American market but in our opinion this range is a real challenger to the more established inflatable hot tub brands. By some alchemy Goplus have produced a high quality portable hot tub at a surprising low price. Inexpensive quality is a hard thing to pull off but Goplus hot tubs seem to have done it.
The new design approach of these tubs is a step forward that we like, and it’s one that competitors need to sit up and take notice of.
Are these hot tubs the way ahead? Well we certainly think so.
